A spokesman for Fort Stewart near Savannah says Specialist Marc A. Hall is being transferred because most witnesses in the case are soldiers who have since deployed to Iraq.

The Army says in his recording, Hall threatened to go on a shooting spree over his anger for being kept in military duty over the unpopular “stop-loss” program.

Hall, a South Carolina native, has been jailed in southeast Georgia since December.
