Court Martial Attorney - Indian trooper gets life sentence for fratricide
Srinagar, February 08 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, an Indian army Court has convicted a solider for life imprisonment for killing his two colleagues.
The incident had taken place in Pulwama three years back. It was revealed before the High Court that in January 2006 two soldiers, Naib Subadar, Gurmail Singh and Lance Naik, Lukindar Singh were killed and another trooper was injured in the firing of Updesh Kumar. The Army ordered an inquiry and later ordered a Court Martial, which, on October 26, 2006, awarded life sentence to Updesh Kumar.
After the award of life sentence, Updesh Kumar was sent to a Haryana jail. However, he was brought to Srinagar centre jail on the directions of the High Court.
